Apps-Related Privacy Policy

This document describes how Five Mind Creations UG (haftungsbeschränkt), the developer and publisher of “EscapeVR: The Basement” and “EscapeVR: Trapped Above the Clouds”, uses, shares, and protects information collected from players of “EscapeVR: The Basement” and “EscapeVR: Trapped Above the Clouds”.

Collected Information

We, the developer of “EscapeVR: The Basement” and “EscapeVR: Trapped Above the Clouds”, do not maintain our own user account system and do not sell personal information.

However, our apps use features of your platform (Steam, Meta, Rift, Viveport) to provide platform services such as achievements and deep linking. When our app requests Platform Features through Meta’s Data Use Checkup (DUC), our app will process platform-provided user data required for those features. On Meta Quest, this can include in particular: USER_PROFILE, USER_ID, and DEEP_LINKING.

This platform information is provided and managed by the platform provider and is associated with your platform account/player ID. Except as needed to operate these platform features, we do not independently collect or store this platform account data on our own servers.

Use of Information

Player’s ID and username with achievements:
The processed platform information is used to unlock achievements based on the player’s progress and behavior and to associate those achievements with the correct platform account.

Deep Linking:
Deep linking information is used only to support deep link functionality (for example opening the app or specific app contexts via platform links), where supported by the platform.

Aggregated, anonymized, and disidentified play data:
This information is used to support the internal operations of the app. The aggregated data cannot be used to identify any particular player.

3rd Party Integrations

Except for the platform data discussed above, we do not use any other services.

Deletion Requests

If you would like to request deletion of any personal data that we control directly (for example, support emails you have sent us), please contact us at: support@fivemindcreations.com.

If your request concerns platform-managed data (for example Meta/Steam platform account data, platform profile information, user ID, achievements, or other platform services), please contact the platform provider directly. We will assist you where possible.

Changes to the App-Related Privacy Policy

We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example, to reflect changes in law, our practices, or features of “EscapeVR: The Basement” and “EscapeVR: Trapped Above the Clouds”. Such changes will be effective immediately upon publishing. By playing one of those, you agree to the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy.
